Imagine walking and playing with your dog at your own home like any other day and suddenly a police officer is staring into your face.  You attempt to follow the officer's instructions then your dog comes around the corner heading toward you and the officer who just told you to put your hands up, you scream, "Don't shoot my dog".  BANG!  The officer shoots and then tries to blame you for not telling your dog to back off.  "Cisco" lay dead on the ground, just the same.

Sure.  All humans can keep their hands above their head while at the same time give a dog the command that will stop this kind of tragedy.

Police seem incapable of finding the correct address and in the process decide to shoot the family dog.  "Ava", a 4 year old German Shepherd was playing in her front yard with her 'furever friend' when the officer walks up and tells the owner to get her dog.

The woman gave the command in German (which is the language Ava understood), Ava turned to walk toward her owner when the police officer decided to shoot the dog in the back, anyway.

Now Ava is dead, and the police officer was still on salary at his regular job.

Once again the cops can't find the correct address and end up shooting a dog, "Easy", who was chained inside the garage.  Yes, chained up inside the garage.  The excuse is lame considering the 911 call was for the address across the street from the murdered dog.

No one can claim this dog was running loose, but the police department is standing firm on their policies concerning an officer's right to defend himself.

Maybe that officer should be sent back to school to learn the difference between a chained up dog and one that present no real or present danger.

This is what happens when police are called to a shooting and your dog happens to be running loose on the streets.  Even if your dog 'will not bite or attack' the rest of the world, including police officers, jump to the conclusion that the dog is vicious simply because he's chasing the cops.

Had this dog been securely restrained and in the control of its owners, maybe the dog would not have been shot,  or maybe not.

DUDLEY - Police shoot, kill family's dog - YouTube

"Dudley" belonged to a man who works as the 'manager' of a local veterinary office, and was reported lost last February 1st.  When Dudley was reportedly spotted on a major highway, the police decided that he was posing a much greater risk to motorists who might have a wreck trying to avoid hitting this dog took it on themselves to use what they say is everything possible to secure this dog from harm to or from anyone else.  

Finally they gave up and shot Dudley *4* times with a rifle before he was taken by death.

What about the people that lived in the area?  Were they safe from bullets ricocheting through the neighborhood?  After all, these officers who are supposed to have required hours on the shooting range were unable to hit a dog in less than 4 bullets.

A fenced back yard with a secured gate latch is not enough to keep the police out of your property if they suspect that some fugitive you've never heard of might be hiding on your property.  When someone sees a fully fenced yard with gates that are clearly fastened, it usually means there is a dog in the yard.  But instead of knocking on the door FIRST, this cop just unlocks the gate, leaves it open and continues to find the dog "Buddy" and just shoots it.  Period.  No rhyme or reason so he makes up one and claims the dog attacked him.  Dog lovers around the world know all too well that most dogs will run toward an intruder only to either turn and run away, or slide to a stop on their front feet and simply continue to bark at the intruder.

Why don't the police officers know this?

At least this time the police department is willing to negotiate with the dog's owner about the vet bill and yet the dog will live with these ugly looking scars for the rest of its life.

Just as usual, nobody has the sense to at least double verify the address before the cops start shooting family pets.  This dog, "LICHEN", was IN the house with the dog owner's stepson when police arrived on a 911 call.  The owner was next door repairing a swamp cooler (air conditioner) when just that fast, the cops show up never knock on the door and barge in like monsters only to shoot the family dog.  The dog will loose a front leg to the damage caused by the rifle shot fired from the rifle used by the police officer.  The family pet also suffered a shattered jaw in addition to other injures.

This dog was carefully restrained inside his own home, but that doesn't matter to police who still operate under the Patriot Act forced on Americans by George Bush in an effort to maximize security from terrorists.

When you consider the number of innocent people whose homes are raided like this, and are completely innocent of all charges supposedly against them, there is little reason to be surprised at the rapidly increasing number of people who are convinced there is some kind of conspiracy going on.  Otherwise, there would be no reason to intrude on this family's peace and quiet.

Now the family dog is dead and their small child saw every bit of it happen.

Will that child grow up convinced the police are nothing but legalized thugs?

Who knows.

A 2 year old dog was shot twice by a police officer who had to unlatch the gate of this property to investigate a parked car with expired tags.  The dogs were used to having a fully fenced yard to play in and not be able to attack anyone.  But when police think they can enter any person's property without a warrant, things got deadly for these 2 family pets.

Of course, the authorities claim the police officer does have the right to defend himself, so any method he chooses is legitimate in killing family pets.  "Chewy" paid for running loose in his own fenced in yard by taking not one, but two bullets that resulted in his death.

A disabled person who requires a Service Dog is not safe from Police Brutality, either.  This young woman whose independence depends on trained canine was stopped by cops, brutally handled into the back of the patrol car and forced to sit there quietly while the officers let her Service Dog out of the car... only to watch as the dog was run into traffic and killed on Independence Day.

Even if you're an elected official, like this Maryland Mayor, your dogs are not safe from raid busting cops who bang their way into your home, handcuff you and your mother in-law, then turn around and shoot and kill your 2 family dogs.

The mayor and his family were indeed innocent, and the police should have made triply sure they had the correct address, but this seems to go on the shoulders of drug dealers who ship drugs through the mail.  Yes, for some reason the mayor and his family were not thoroughly investigated before this Drug Raid commenced on their home.

Both of the family dogs are still just as dead.

This Dachshund, yeah the little 'hotdog' looking dog, finds death at the end of a police gun as this cop claims he had to shoot the dog because "...he was barking".

The owners remained in disbelief because their children thought of the dog as a 'brother of some kind', and the dog always had a Christmas "paw" under the tree, just for him.  Now their lives are dashed to bits because their dog didn't bite, or attempt to.  He simply voiced his opinion over what was going on around him.

Nonetheless, this Dachshund Family Pet is dead, and a huge hole is left in the hearts of his owners.

This is a stray dog apparently being caught by police who are filling in as Animal Control Officers, simply because the rear end of their truck looks like the 'dog catchers' rig.

You will see the dog is restrained by the dog catching pole and an officer is mildly struggling with the canine in an attempt to steer the dog back toward the truck.

For some unknown reason, the cop draws his gun and fires a bullet into the dogs head, then starts around behind the dog who starts moving, again and still restrained by the rope pole and the officer.  The dog is wagging her tail the entire time.

Then he pulls out his fun, again, and shoots the completely subdued dog in the head AGAIN!  After much pacing around to figure out what to do next, the cops put a blanket over the dog probably to hid what has happened to the dog.

This time the officer waits until one of the dogs runs up with a gentle loping as if the dog is showing off what they were doing to the confined dog.

It is absolutely imperative that dog owners keep their dogs safely secured and unable to run freely around the neighborhood.

"China" was in her backyard and never thought she would have 94 pellets under her skin but then she never dreamed the neighbor would shoot her at a distance using a shot gun, and while her (China's) 3 human children watched.

X-rays shot the pellets clearly embedded in her shoulder.

This cop doesn't even take time to size up the situation before walking quickly up to two dogs playing, pulls his gun and shots the first dog who collapses from the wound.  The second dog comes to investigate the downed dog and the cop kicks him out of the way.

A 5 to 7 lb. dog is not match for a fully armed police officer, yet these cops were determined to kill this family pet who was a Birthday gift to their 12 year old son a few years ago.  The owner dug 3 spent copper jacketed bullets from the wooden porch where the officers murdered this family pet.  The hardest part of all is having to try and explain to their children what happened to "Jack".

The little dog was cornered on the porch and scared of these people (cops) he'd never seen before just helping themselves to come up the steps of the porch where Jack awaited the return of his owners.

This time, a female cop does the shooting and after firing numerous shots at the Pit Bull, "Sugar", a bullet fragment hits her owner just below the collar bone.  Neighbors are irate claiming the dog was nothing but friendly and just wanted to play with anyone who showed up.

"Cisco" shot by police who arrived at the WRONG ADDRESS, again!  Officer started drawing his gun before he even knocked on any door, and when Cisco barked at the officer while his owner was leaving for work.  Too late.  Cisco was already dead.
